Private pilot licence PPL(A) training is the first step not only for the future professional pilots, but also for sport pilots and all others who want to fly just for fun. This licence allows you to fly for your own pleasure, you can use the aircraft as a form of transport or you can just provide an uncommon experience to your family and friends.

In the last ten years numerous pilots passed basic training at Flight school of Aeroclub Prague Letnany. For some of them flying is not just a noble hobby and fly professionally for carriers such as the CSA, Travel service, Ryanair, Czech police and even Czech army.

Entry requirements

Minimum age to begin with the basic training is 16 years. At the time of final examination student has to be the age of 17.
Aspirant for a pilot licence must be holder of I. or II. class of medical fitness from the Institute of aviation medicine.
Before starting practical training it is necessary to finish primary education.
Before first solo flight aspirant must obtain general radiotelephone operator´s certificate of aeronautical mobile service. This licence you can receive after passing test at Czech telecommunication office. It is also possible to get this licence at our school during special courses.

How to get PPL(A) licence

First step on your way to flying is passing theoretical preparation for pilots in Aeroclub Prague Letnany or in other organization. When you get basic theory under control, which is necessary to understand proper flying principles, you can begin with practical pilot training.

What´s the price of basic training (PPL)

The price of private pilot licence depends on the type of aircraft you fly. During whole training you can fly at the most two types of aircraft.
The cheapest option is to fly Cessna C-150M during entire training. Private pilot licence from 4.808,- euro (net of VAT, PPL training at reduced price).
It is possible to fly two types in training. We can offer you four-seater Cessna C-172.
For sportsmanlike pilots there is two-seater Zlín Z-142 or four-seater Zlín Z-43. Some training options are calculated in the price list.

Instructors

In Flight school of Aeroclub Prague Letnany nearly twenty instructors are available for you. They are very experienced pilots and many of them fly for carriers or for national service.
Our instructors attend to students individually, none of our instructors is assigned to more than four students! We provide above standard individual care to each pilot in training.
Very detailed preflight preparation and after flight analysis are common in our flight school and do not pay for it. With each student we go through the whole flight with emphasis on common mistakes. It creates right habits for safe flying.
Don´t be afraid if you cannot speak Czech. Our instructors can speak English very well. Many of them are professional pilots.
