Arrival to Letnany
Operator of the airport is PCA Traffic Control company. For international arrivals-departures write email to posta@letnany-airport.cz or call +420 728 483 706.
Airfield Praha Letňany is situated under MCTR (military controlled area) of airport Kbely, class D airspace category. Operating two way radio is required for arrival to Praha Letňany airport, SSR transponder is recommended. Arriving aircrafts are always required to call frequency Kbely tower 120,875 first and request permission to enter MCTR.
For entering/leaving MCTR:
Before arrival it is necessary to verify up-to-date information on Flight information services website in AD section and current NOTAMs.
Example arrivals step-by-step
Arrival from W- NW (Nuernberg, Bayreuth, Hof, Gera)
For transponder equipped aircraft:
- Entering Czech airspace contact Praha Information 126,10 MHz, proceed to the border of CTR Praha, near Kladno.
- At least 3 minutes before entering CTR Praha (D airspace category) contact Ruzyne Radar 118,30 MHZ and ask for VFR routing to Letnany.
- Released from Ruzyne Radar, contact Letnany Info 120,325 MHz
For aircraft without transponder:
- Entering Czech airspace contact Praha Information 126,10 MHz, bypass CTR Praha north to city Mělnik.
- Following Labe River (east bank) continue to Brandys nad Labem.
- Approaching Brandys nad Labem contact Kbely TWR ( 120,875 MHz), request clearence to enter MCTR and VFR route Brandys - Letnany.
- When cleared, proceed directly Brandys - Letnany, altitude max 2000 ft.
Arrival from N-NE (Dresden, Poland)
- Entering Czech airspace contact Praha Information 126,10 MHz, continue to Brandys nad Labem.
- Approaching Brandys nad Labem contact Kbely TWR ( 120,875 MHz), request clearence to enter MCTR and VFR route Brandys - Letnany.
- When cleared, proceed directly Brandys - Letnany, altitude max 2000 ft.
Arrival from E- SE (Slovakia, Austria) or SW (Munich)
- Entering Czech airspace contact Praha Information 126,10 MHz, continue to Ricany.
- Contact Kbely TWR prior MCTR Kbely border 120,875 MHz and ask for VFR routing to Letnany.
- Released from Kbely TWR contact Letnany Info 120,325 MHz.

Change of the airfield operator
Since November 1st, 2009 there is a change of the operator of the Letnany airfield. The new operator is the company Gemini Port.
